Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)

The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is a leading non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development through comprehensive environmental education. It stands as one of the world's largest organizations in this field, driving global change and empowering individuals, particularly young people, to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural world. Established in 1981, FEE operates five internationally recognized programs: Blue Flag, Eco-Schools, Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE), Learning about Forests (LEAF), and Green Key. These initiatives actively engage and empower individuals to address urgent global challenges such as climate action, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution through educational solutions. With over 40 years of impactful experience in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), FEE boasts a vast network of over 110 member organizations across 85 countries, demonstrating significant international reach and impact, including a strong presence in India through its national member organization. Its strategic plan, GAIA 20:30, prioritizes climate action across all programs. The Foundation for Environmental Education is also an active participant in the Greening Education Partnership, contributing to global efforts to integrate environmental sustainability into education systems worldwide.
