About
Gujarat Tourism is the trading name of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL), a state government company that acts as the nodal agency for tourism development in Gujarat. Incorporated in 1975 and commercially active from 1977-78, the corporation builds and runs tourist infrastructure on behalf of the state tourism department and draws project grants from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Its remit covers interpretation centres, museums, accommodation, conducted tours and ground transport. The corporation developed and operates the Dinosaur Fossil Park and Museum at Raiyoli as well as the Dandi Kutir Museum. It also organises the state's flagship visitor events, including Rann Utsav, the International Kite Festival and the Vibrant Navratri Festival, and administers registration schemes for tourist guides, homestays and heritage hotels.
