About

Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament Society is the New Delhi based body that organises the Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament, one of the oldest invitational hockey tournaments in India. The senior edition has been held since 1951 in memory of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Society also conducts the Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament for Under-17 boys, bringing together teams from Indian states, Sports Authority of India centres, public sector units and academies. Matches are typically played at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium and the National Stadium turfs in New Delhi. The organisation works closely with Hockey India and the Delhi hockey ecosystem to provide a competitive platform for junior players. Many tournament alumni have progressed to the Indian junior and senior national hockey teams.
