About

NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) serves as the Government of India's premier policy think tank. Established in 2015, it replaced the Planning Commission with a mandate to better address the evolving needs and aspirations of the Indian populace. NITI Aayog fosters cooperative federalism by integrating states into the national policy-making process. The Aayog's core objectives include promoting inclusive development and focusing on vulnerable sections of society. It ensures credible planning, designs long-term policies, encourages innovation, and serves as a resource center for effective governance. NITI Aayog operates through two primary hubs: the Team India Hub, facilitating state participation with the central government, and the Knowledge and Innovation Hub, which enhances the institution's think-tank capabilities. NITI Aayog's initiatives encompass the Atal Innovation Mission, National Data and Analytics Platform, Aspirational Districts Programme, and Poshan Abhiyan. These initiatives emphasize innovation, data accessibility, and socio-economic advancement. The Aayog also spearheads projects such as the Methanol Economy and the SDG Index for sustainable growth. NITI Aayog is located in Niti Bhawan, easily accessible in the Sansad Marg Area of New Delhi.
