Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA)

The Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy is an elite badminton academy founded in 1994 by All England champion Prakash Padukone and Dronacharya awardee Vimal Kumar. It is recognised as a National Centre of Excellence for badminton by the Sports Authority of India. The academy provides full-time, residential, long-term coaching to players of national and international standard, combining technical training with fitness and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition and sports-science support. It operates from the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru, and selection is strictly merit-based through trials. The academy has produced successive generations of world-class players, including Olympians and international medallists such as Lakshya Sen, and continues to develop elite players aiming for podium success in international competition.
