About
SowGood Foundation is a farm based learning organisation that works with schools to make eco literacy a lived habit for children rather than a textbook topic. It began in 2017 when founder Pragati Chaswal grew potatoes on a balcony with her son, and has since built learning farms, composting units and waste segregation systems inside partner school campuses. The organisation states its vision as growing a more nature connected generation, and its mission as creating learning farms in schools to generate empathy and action for a greener future. Its work is structured around a three step philosophy of Vichaar, Aachaar and Prachaar, which moves children from awareness to daily practice and then to influencing their families and neighbourhoods. SowGood runs three linked offerings. The Nature Connect School Program embeds farming in the school timetable, the Learning Farm hosts urban farming experiences for children, and a Teachers Training programme equips school staff to sustain the farms independently. Private schools pay a programme fee, while government MCD school programmes are funded through donations and corporate partners so they run at no cost to those schools.
