About
The International Neuroscience Olympiad (INO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that conducts research-oriented challenges dedicated to neuroscience. Originating at the University of California, Berkeley, its mission is to inspire young minds to explore the human brain and cultivate the next generation of neuroscientists and medical pioneers. The Olympiad emphasizes a solid grasp of modern neuroscience and engagement with the latest research. INO offers an international platform for students aged 13-18 to explore neuroscience. It encourages participants to integrate new knowledge into their own thinking, moving beyond rote memorization to foster curiosity through hands-on engagement with real-world challenges. The competition highlights the practical applications of neuroscience and the importance of research skills. The Olympiad aims to cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and analytical ability, which are core competencies essential not only to neuroscience but to all fields, laying a strong foundation for future career development and personal growth. To date, over 12,000 students from more than forty countries and regions, including India, have participated in INO.
