About
USACO supports computing education in the USA and worldwide. It runs online programming contests for students at all levels, free training pages, and an archive of past contest problems with solutions. Participation is free and open to all. Based on the year's contest results, it invites finalists to a summer training camp at Clemson University. It selects the four students who represent the USA at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), and a team of four female high school students for the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI). Dr. Don Piele founded USACO in 1992 to bring a team from the USA to the IOI. Since 2011 it has been headed by Dr. Brian Dean, a computer science professor at Clemson University.
