About This Opportunity
The Financial Assistance for Education of Wards of Beedi, Cine, IOMC, and LSDM Workers Pre-Matric is a central sector scholarship administered by the Directorate General of Labour Welfare under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The scheme supports the school-stage education of children of registered workers in four cess-funded welfare funds: Beedi, Cine, Iron Ore Manganese Ore and Chrome Ore Mines, and Limestone and Dolomite Mines.
The scheme is open to children of registered workers who have completed at least six months as a Beedi, IOMC, LSDM, or Cine worker, including contract and home-based workers. Students must be studying in Classes 1 to 10 in government-recognised institutions and must have passed the last qualifying examination on first attempt. Income limits apply: mine supervisory workers and Beedi workers up to Rs. 10,000 per month, and Cine workers up to Rs. 8,000 per month. Up to two children per worker family are eligible, and correspondence or distance-mode students are excluded.
Class-wise benefit amounts are Rs. 1,000 per annum for Classes 1 to 4, Rs. 1,500 per annum for Classes 5 to 8, and Rs. 2,000 per annum for Classes 9 to 10. Disbursement is through Direct Benefit Transfer to the bank account after Institution Nodal Officer and Welfare Commissioner verification.
Application is made through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in by selecting the scheme under the Ministry of Labour and Employment scheme list. Required documents include the worker's identity card or Form-B register entry, bank passbook or cancelled cheque, last passing certificate, and income certificate from a revenue authority.

Worker must have at least 6 months of service. Income up to Rs. 10,000/month for mine and Beedi workers; Rs. 8,000/month for Cine workers. Maximum two children per family.
