About this opportunity

Hour of AI Previously: Hour of Code is an annual global movement organized by Code.org during Computer Science Education Week. The campaign invites students worldwide to spend one hour exploring computer science and, increasingly, artificial intelligence through self-paced tutorials and classroom activities.

The initiative is open to learners of all grade levels, with tutorials designed for early elementary students through high school. No prior coding experience is required, and activities are available in more than 45 languages on the Code Studio platform.

Participants engage with hands-on activities such as Dance Party, AI for Oceans, Minecraft Hour of Code, Music Lab, and beginner web and app tutorials. Teachers, parents, and community organizers can register an event or run an activity at home, in a classroom, or as part of a school-wide celebration.

All activities are free of charge, and participants can download a certificate of completion after finishing a tutorial. The campaign has reached tens of millions of students across more than 180 countries since its launch in 2013.
