About This Opportunity
The ISDS Junior World Schools Academy is an introductory debate workshop organized by the Indian Schools Debating Society. Designed for students in Grades 7 and 8, the program introduces participants to public speaking and competitive debate in the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) format through a tailored curriculum of games, lectures, and debates.
The workshop is open to students studying in India with no prior debating experience required. Sessions are conducted online via Zoom over 4 days, spread across 2 weekends, with each session lasting 4 hours. Instructors include some of India's and the world's top debaters, with the curriculum designed by national coaches.
Participants develop foundational skills in structured argumentation, public speaking confidence, and critical thinking. The program prepares students for elocution competitions, Model UN participation, and debate tournaments. Students already familiar with WSDC basics benefit from intermediate skill development.
