Mijink Rani Brahma, trained under the Kathak exponent Prof. Dr. Mandvi Singh, who combines traditional technique with a contemporary approach, and by Vidushi Dhara Mavani of the Gandharva school of Kathak, known for her use of Hori, Jhula and footwork and for preparing students to perform on stage. Theory and practical examinations are conducted by external examiners and are optional, so students who want the training without the assessment may take the course purely as a hobby.
