About This Opportunity
The Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan Scholarship is a flagship CSR initiative by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Commercial Vehicles division), dedicated to supporting the daughters of truck and bus drivers who are determined to continue their education despite financial challenges. Launched in 2014 as part of Mahindra Truck and Bus's commitment to the Indian truck driver community, it is one of the most sustained education-focused CSR initiatives in the commercial vehicle sector in India.
The scholarship is exclusively for girl students who are daughters or wards of truck or bus drivers holding a valid commercial driving license (LCV/ICV/HCV). The father need not own or drive a Mahindra truck — any commercial vehicle brand qualifies, and employment as a driver with a valid license is sufficient. Students must have passed Class 10 and be currently studying in Class 11 or above, through graduation or post-graduation, including vocational courses, polytechnic, diploma, and ITI programs.
Each selected scholar receives a fixed one-time scholarship of INR 10,000 to cover tuition fees, books, study materials, hostel charges, examination costs, and other educational expenses. The amount is disbursed directly into the student's verified bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Recipients also receive a certificate of recognition.
The selection process involves document verification, academic audit, and need assessment. Applicants from rural or economically disadvantaged areas are given priority. Selection is carried out through outreach programs across 75+ transport hubs nationwide. Applications are managed through Buddy4Study, Mahindra's scholarship implementation partner. The 12th edition, announced in January 2026, extends 1,000 new scholarships, bringing the cumulative total to over 11,000 scholarships worth more than INR 11 crore.
