About this opportunity

The National Pencak Silat Championship is the youth edition of the annual national championship organized by the Indian Pencak Silat Federation. The championship covers the Singa, Macan, Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior, and Junior age divisions for both boys and girls.

Participants compete across the four standard Pencak Silat formats. Tanding involves full-contact sparring within prescribed weight classes, while Tunggal, Ganda, and Regu are open-weight artistic categories that judge solo, paired, and team performance of choreographed forms.

The event is held at the Indoor Sports Complex of Saint Janardhan Swami Ashram in Nashik, Maharashtra. Athletes are nominated through their respective state Pencak Silat associations, which conduct selection trials at the state level prior to the national championship.

Medalists at the national championship enter the pool considered for the Indian national squad for international PERSILAT and Asian Pencak Silat Federation events.
