About This Opportunity

The Non-Trivial Research Pathway is a prestigious, fully online, three-stage program designed for ambitious students aged 14–20 who want to solve real-world problems through meaningful research. Open to Indian and international students, it provides a step-by-step journey from foundational skills to advanced research projects, all with expert guidance and global peer support.

  1. Research Foundations Program (4 weeks)

This first stage is open to students aged 14–18. Over four weeks, participants explore global challenges, reflect on personal values, and learn the basics of problem selection and research framing. The program includes structured worksheets, peer discussions, and community-building through Discord. Upon completion, students receive a certificate and a free book from the Non-Trivial Library. There is no cash prize at this stage.

  1. Research Fellows Program (8 weeks)

Top Foundations graduates are invited to become Fellows. During this stage, students conduct independent or team research projects on globally significant issues. They receive personalized mentorship, participate in weekly calls, and present their work at a final Demo Day. Each Fellow receives a $2,000 scholarship, with the possibility of earning additional grants of $1,000 to $15,000 for outstanding projects.

  1. Research Scholars Program (12 weeks)

The final stage is reserved for high-performing Fellows ready to take their work to the next level. Scholars are matched with expert mentors and conduct original research with potential for real-world impact. Each Scholar is awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

All programs are completely free to apply and attend, with flexible online formats requiring 5–10 hours per week. This pathway is ideal for driven teenagers who want to explore meaningful ideas, gain research experience, and join a global network of changemakers.
