About this opportunity
The Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC Residential Program is a long-term, fully residential development pathway for promising young hockey players from across India. Cadets selected through nationwide trials live, study and train at the High Performance Centre at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, under professional coaches and sports science staff.
The program is open to talented boys and girls identified at state and national talent pools through structured trials held in cities such as Rourkela, Bhubaneswar and centres in Assam, Karnataka and Manipur. Final selection is decided at a closed camp in Bhubaneswar after technical, tactical, medical and age-verification assessments.
Selected cadets receive professional hockey coaching, accommodation, meals and continuing formal schooling alongside training, with no fee charged to the cadet or family. Sports science support covers GPS performance tracking, athlete management and sports psychology, providing a complete elite-athlete development environment.
The centre currently houses ninety cadets in equal numbers of boys and girls and is run jointly by Tata Steel, Tata Trusts, the Government of Odisha and Odisha State Hockey, giving cadets a clear pathway from grassroots tournaments to senior national hockey.
