About This Opportunity
PM YASASVI Top Class Education in Schools is a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The scheme provides comprehensive financial assistance to meritorious students from Other Backward Classes, Economically Backward Classes, and Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes pursuing school education in identified Top Class Schools.
The scheme covers students studying in Class 9 to 12 in recognised government, government-aided, or private schools that are designated as Top Class Schools based on academic performance criteria. Students from families with annual income up to Rs. 2,50,000 are eligible to apply. Thirty per cent of scholarships are reserved for female students.
Class 9 and 10 students receive financial aid up to Rs. 75,000 per year while Class 11 and 12 students receive up to Rs. 1,25,000 per year. The scholarship covers tuition fees, hostel fees, and other necessary school expenses. Selection is based on merit and previous academic performance with applications submitted through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.
Disbursement is through Direct Benefit Transfer to the student's active bank account. The scholarship is renewable each year subject to maintaining academic performance and attendance.
