The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, works for the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society. It has two departments. The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment serves Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Backward Classes, Denotified Tribes, senior citizens and other groups, such as transgender persons and victims of substance abuse. The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities works for persons with disabilities. Its schemes for school students include the Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, the Pre-Matric Scholarships for Scheduled Castes, the SHRESHTA residential education scheme for high school students, and PM YASASVI for OBC, EBC and DNT students, which has pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, top class school and college education, and hostels. Its other schemes for students include the Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, the Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for SC Students, free coaching for SC and OBC students, the National Fellowship for OBC Students and the National Overseas Scholarship. The Minister's and the Secretary's offices are at GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi.
