About This Opportunity
The Raising A Mathematician Training Program (RAM TP) is an annual, free, residential mathematics camp designed for young, passionate students across India. This intensive one-week program aims to expose participants to a wide spectrum of mathematical topics, fostering a research-oriented mindset and encouraging them to explore concepts beyond their regular school curriculum. The camp provides a unique learning environment where students can deepen their understanding of mathematics and its applications.
This program is specifically for students aged 13 to 15 years, typically in Grades 8 to 10, who demonstrate a strong passion for mathematics. Participants are selected through a rigorous application process that includes student forms, parent forms, and teacher recommendations, focusing on their inclination towards the subject rather than just grades or test scores. Up to 100 students from across India are selected to participate in this highly sought-after program.
Participants will gain a deeper conceptual understanding of secondary and higher secondary level mathematics, learn to prove theorems, and explore real-life applications of mathematical concepts. The program emphasizes developing logical and divergent thinking skills, encouraging intellectual risks, and fostering a research attitude. It also provides a platform for like-minded students to interact, share knowledge, and motivate each other, creating a strong peer group.
This camp is fully funded, covering lodging and boarding for all selected students. It offers a unique opportunity to interact with experts from academia and industry, providing a holistic learning experience that extends beyond traditional classroom settings. The curriculum includes topics like ancient Indian mathematics and its modern relevance, connecting mathematics to fields like computer science and economics.
