About This Opportunity
The Indian Fine Arts Society (Regd) annually organizes instrumental music competitions to promote and preserve Carnatic music among young artists. This competition provides a significant platform for aspiring musicians to demonstrate their talent and receive recognition in the field of classical Indian instrumental music. It aims to encourage dedication and excellence in traditional art forms.
This competition is open to junior participants aged 11 to 16 years and senior participants aged 16 to 21 years. Previous first-prize and second-prize winners in any specific competition category are not eligible to reapply for the same category. Participants are required to make their own arrangements for Sruthi and Sruthi Player, including necessary power accessories for electronic instruments.
Winners will be awarded First and Second Prizes in each competition category. The First Prize winner in the Senior category for Sri Thyagaraja Kritis Competition will also receive an opportunity to perform in the afternoon concerts during the annual Music Festival. This offers valuable exposure and a stepping stone for emerging artists.
Application forms can be downloaded from the official website and submitted via post, courier, in person, or by email. A separate sheet listing chosen songs for instrumental competitions must be attached with the application. The competition emphasizes adherence to traditional compositions and performance standards.
