About

FIRST India is the FIRST Program Delivery Organization for India, the non-profit that runs the FIRST family of robotics and STEM programmes in the country. It works with schools, teachers, coaches and volunteers to bring hands-on robotics to students, and it registers teams, supplies season materials and organises the regional tournaments and the national championship each season. FIRST is a global non-profit that inspires young people through robotics and hands-on STEM. In India its delivery organisation runs three programme families: FIRST LEGO League for younger students, using LEGO Education hardware; FIRST Tech Challenge for secondary students; and FIRST Robotics Competition. Teams register directly with FIRST India, and the season theme set is included in the registration. Regional tournaments are held in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru and Pune, leading to the India National Championship in Pune. Coach, educator and volunteer training is provided free through the global FIRST training portal, and LEGO Education hardware is supplied through authorised resellers.
