Students must have passed the previous class and maintain at least 50 per cent attendance in the current academic session.
Benefit amounts scale with the level of education. School levels receive Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 5,000 per year, with a one-time merit reward of Rs. 10,000 for Class 10 students scoring above 90 per cent. Higher education students receive Rs. 7,000 for graduation and post-graduation, while professional courses such as B.Tech, BCA, MBA, B.Arch, M.Tech, and Medical at government institutions receive up to Rs. 40,000 per year. Girl students receive an additional 20 per cent over the regular amount from Class 8 onwards.
Application is made online through the State Scholarship Portal at scholarship.odisha.gov.in or the board's portal at nirmanshramik.odisha.gov.in. The scheme is funded by the one per cent construction cess collected under the BOCW Welfare Cess Act, 1996.
