About This Opportunity
The Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste Students is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The scheme provides financial assistance to Scheduled Caste students pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary education to enable them to complete their studies without financial hardship.
The scholarship is available to SC students whose parental annual income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000. Eligible students must have passed Matriculation or Higher Secondary or a higher examination of a recognised university or Board of Secondary Education. The scheme covers studies in India only and supports a wide range of courses from Class 11 onwards through undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The scholarship value includes maintenance allowance for hostellers and day scholars, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable institutional fees, study tour charges, thesis typing and printing charges, book allowance for correspondence courses, and disability allowance for students with disabilities. Awardees are selected by the State Government or Union Territory of permanent domicile through the National Scholarship Portal.
