About this opportunity
The Swechha Farm School is a sustainability-oriented, non-traditional education lab run by Swechha India on a working farm about 100 kilometres from Delhi, set amidst green fields and the Aravalli foothills. The Farm School is designed as a learning centre for ecological design innovation, sustainable agriculture, environmental practices, life skills, and personality enhancement, and is open to school students, families, college students, and youth groups.
Through day visits, weekend camps, residential farm stays, and longer volunteering engagements, participants are immersed in regenerative agricultural systems and ecological living. The programme covers multi-layer organic farming, native and indigenous species nurseries, apiculture and honey harvesting, vermicomposting, water harvesting, renewable energy basics, insect hotels, and a Remakery studio that explores circular-economy and upcycling practices. Sessions blend observation walks, shramdaan (community service work on the farm), reflective dialogue, and skill-building modules on system thinking, food and human health, and personal resilience.
The Farm School is positioned as a complement to formal schooling rather than a replacement for it. Schools, parent groups, and individual families can book exposure visits and customised programmes, while older students and college youth can apply for internships and longer stays. Activities are intentionally low-tech and outdoor, with the aim of helping young people slow down, work with their hands, understand where their food and resources come from, and build a personal connection to ecology, sustainability, and community.
